Universal Geneve Round Watch Ref. 542602

This Universal Genève is a rare vintage piece featuring a dial set with Oracle Bone Script (jiǎgǔwén), the oldest known form of Chinese writing dating back to the Shang Dynasty. Instead of traditional numerals, the hours are represented by the 12 Earthly Branches (dìzhī).

This system was historically used to divide the day into twelve 2-hour segments, making it a perfect, albeit ancient, fit for a watch face.
